Here is a sampling of the types of cases I have handled and the jurisdictions where they were resolved:

A woman died as a result of infection due to pressure ulcers which developed in a nursing home and were not properly treated. Jackson County, MO

A construction worker who was burned while doing restorative work. An additional penalty was imposed because the employer failed to comply with the Factory Act. Jackson County, MO

A man died as a result of numerous falls in a nursing home. Jackson County, MO

A man who was working for Kansas City as a temporary employee was paralyzed after a fall at the K. C. Water Plant. Jackson County, MO

A woman who had permanent damage to her mouth and jaw resulting from a dentist who performed an unnecessary surgery. Jackson County, MO

A woman whose finger had to be amputated because of an infection following a procedure at a nail salon. Jackson County, MO

A woman who died from lung cancer after her doctor failed to properly read an x-ray which showed early tumor development. Johnson County, MO

A high school teacher and basketball coach whose voice was permanently damaged by a vocal chord stripping performed without first being informed of several conservative treatments which should have been provided. Cape Girardeau, MO

A father of six who was killed while he was helping a motorist on the side of the highway. The over-the-road truck driver who struck him was fatigued and had altered his driver's log. Pemiscot County, MO

A woman died in a nursing home after she was not given antibiotics that she needed. Buchanan County, MO

A young woman who suffered brain damage from a botched epidural injection just before the delivery of her baby by C-section. The infant was also brain damaged because the hospital and staff failed to take proper steps after they recognized the mother was in peril. Johnson County, KS

A lady was found to be malnourished and dehydrated because of poor treatment in a nursing home. Johnson County, KS

A nursing home resident suffered a fractured hip and depression after she fell in the bathing area because a nurse failed to secure a safety belt on a lifting device. Wyandotte County, KS

A lady nursing home resident died from infection, severe respiratory and urinary tract infections. She did not receive appropriate care for these infections as well as for pressure sores which had developed. Wichita, KS
